Ivey Ranch
Non-Profit Website Redesign & Development
This project scope included a complete makeover of an old unhealthy site. The new site makes use of a new logo, colors, typography, information placement and navigation, new pages with added content, use of images (many taken personally). This was, and still is, a complete volunteer project from the top down. I currently continue to manage the site and work to improve their online presence.
Objectives
Ivey Ranch Park Association is a non-profit organization with a focus on providing services for those with various disabilities (physical, mental, emotional, etc). There were several features that Ivey Ranch wanted to make use of on their website; a calendar displaying their various on-going events, an Events page, a volunteer page, and a page about their star volunteers – their horses!
They also wanted all of their services to be highlighted but also wanted a focus on their volunteer programs, without which, their organization would not thrive.
It was also important to Ivey Ranch that I make use of as many images as possible. They felt that the images of what goes on at “The Ranch” may provide emotional appeal and drive donations and sponsorships. Unfortunately, they did not have a stock supply of images that had been taken of their programs. This meant that prior to the start of this project, I had to take a number of photos myself so many of the large images were taken by me.
While this site will always be in the midst of updates, improvements, and ongoing changes, it is a huge improvement over the original website and the Ivey Ranch board, staff, and volunteers are very pleased with it.
